The HANA-Doll* Project is a 2.5D idol series comprised of music and drama tracks.On the surface, this is a story depicting the growth of six boys aiming to become idols, though hints and messages in various forms also create an underlying story.

This is a tale of six beautiful and fleeting "idols."
A beloved part of the entertainment industry, idols inspire the hearts of many, shining brightly and being admired by all.
Today's industry, however, is becoming saturated with a torrent of imitation idols. As a result of this, one agency started a new project:The HANA-Doll* Project.The project is the convergence of art and medical technology, which maximizes human potential by planting the seeds of special flowers inside human bodies and growing inside of their hosts.
Using this technology, humans became able to artificially produce highly-talented idols.
In other words: idols with almost perfect abilities.To participate in the project, many aspiring youths gathered.
Six boys were selected after undergoing grueling auditions and harsh training.
They each stepped into the world of idols with a certain determination.Boys who exchanged the life of the idol for the "flower."
In a world where nothing is perfect, a "choice" is given to the immature boys.

The HANA-Doll* Project is a project started by Amagiri Production aiming to create the "perfect" idol. The foundation of the project was developed in collaboration with major medical institutions and takes the approach of using cutting-edge technology on the body itself.- A capsule in the shape of a seed is implanted into the participant's body. The implanted seed documents their memories and genes.
- The seed exerts influence over the body, drawing out the carrier’s full potential. The normal limiters placed on the average human’s brain capacity are undone, allowing them to access its full capabilities.
- As a result, the carrier possesses high physical capabilities, the aim of which is to be able to continuously satisfy all spectators.
- The growth of the seed is mainly influenced by the carrier's own emotions, but it can also be positively influenced by the individual's own growth as an idol, along with the support of fans. Before long, the seed blooms into a flower.
- Upon blooming, the pattern and colour of a flower appears somewhere on the body. While still in the form of a capsule, it is not yet known what kind of flower the seed will bloom into. As side effects of the seed's implantation, the carrier's hair and eye colour may change to match the appearance of the flower.
- The seed also has GPS functionality, and participants live under project management.
- The participants live in the production dorm, taking EKGs and doing physical examinations every day. All health care management is conducted by the android mascot PLANTs, which is equipped with the latest technology.

Amagiri Production is a performing arts agency founded by CEO Amagiri Hajime.
As of now, it is widely known as one of the top five companies within the industry.【DISCIPLINE IN AMAGIRI PRODUCTION】
To join Amagiri Production's training school, students must pass strict auditions, but even then do its students not have any guarantee as to whether or not they will debut. It is also possible for members to be scouted by company staff, although their acceptance into the agency is still ultimately determined by the company president. The agency's idols are subjected to strict rules and regulations, and violation of these rules have at times resulted in the annulment of members' contracts. Idol units under Amagiri Production exist within a clearly defined hierarchy:

While individual members' performance histories are taken into account when determining a unit's position in the caste, the decision is ultimately left at the company president's discretion. Certain rights and privileges are bestowed upon the idols depending on their respective caste, such as how often the unit gets media exposure or releases new music. As units accumulate work experience and move up the ranks, they gain the ability to put in their own suggestions for activities, such as organizing their own concerts, along with gaining the ability to produce themselves.
On the other hand, those who break company rules face merciless demotions into a lower rank.It is due to this degree of strictness that this agency is said to be the harshest in the industry. Even so, the number of young individuals aiming to join Amagiri Production is of no inconsequential amount. Within Amagiri Production, a project was launched to give idols a new form.Such is the HANA-Doll* Project.

ARTISTS

Anthos* (pre-debut name: Anthos) is a boys group comprised of trainees originating from Amagiri Production and those personally scouted by founder Amagiri Hajime. The unit's name is derived from the Greek word for "flower." Amongst the groups in the HANA-Doll* project, Anthos* takes on the meaning of a "unit that will grow from here on out," having begun their activities at a "pre-debut" level rather than starting a complete debut. Following the first six members' flowers blooming, they were joined by secret member Yashiro Setsuna for their official debut.Amongst the large number of idol groups whose chances of meeting fans are unrealistic, Anthos* remains closer to fans' hearts, giving them the image of idols who have an affinity toward their fans. Their performances charm audiences with the use of multi-genre music and lyrics that incorporate hidden messages.Fans of Anthos* are referred to as "Antholics."

Loulou*di is a group that consisted of three trainees from Amagiri Production's SS class: Karasuma Ageha, Hinagi Rui, and Amamiya Kaito. With Karasuma Ageha as their absolute center, the group enjoyed immense popularity, though they went on a temporary hiatus following the leave of member Amemiya Kaito. Thereafter, Sakurai Toki has joined in as a new member, and a reborn Loulou*di has resumed its activities. The unit's name is derived from the Greek word for "flower."Initially the unit debuted with a "cool" image about them; while they still have a similar image post-hiatus, the group has also taken on fantastical and delicate themes such as "nobility," "aloofness," and "sorrow."Fans of Loulou*di are referred to as "Loumiels."
